A Message from SkiStash HQ

First let me begin by saying thanks to all reading this post, and to anyone who has visited the website. Support and feedback in the early stages are crucial for any hopeful services business, or any business for that matter. So thanks again for the positive (and even the little negative) feedback so far, everything from you helps us shape our business to what our customers want, even the girl who said "This is a terrible idea, I left my skis in Bulgaria once and haven't seen them since!" That got an office laugh! On a serious note though, our customers and the experience you all have with us is our first, second, third and even fourth priority. We already feel honoured here at HQ you've taken the time to check us out, imagine how privileged we will feel when you trust us with your gear. Trust means everything to us.

So let me just briefly tell you a little about where SkiStash came from and how I got to the corner office in the city so fast (kidding I'm in bed on my laptop). Excuse me I'm Jack by the way, Owner and Founder of SkiStash, can't wait to meet you all in person when we pick your gear up for the first time! So like most other ideas, SkiStash started out as notes on napkins and beer mats in a cosy little bar in Avoriaz, France. I was on a lads weekend away with my Dad and a couple of his mates, Graeme and Dave. So my Dads two mates have an apartment there that they share with their families, which we were staying in. So my Dad and I rock up to the airport, sweating with our jackets on, snowboard and suitcase for me, the same for Dad but skis. These two are waiting casually in their civvies with a hold all bag each ready to go - their stuff is stashed in their apartment! It hits me, they can't even remember what standing in an excess baggage queue is like, I hated them!

Moving forward a couple of days, Dave and I are on a lift up the mountain, and we start talking about various ways of making what we went through a more pleasant and easier experience. A few crap ideas later and I hit gold - SkiStash. Do what Graeme and Dave do in their apartment... for everyone! Store, service and deliver skis and snowboards and other kit so people don't have the hassle or expense of carting everything round with them all the time. Dave sees the potential and begins drafting initial costs, prices etc. and we return back from a skiing trip with the makings of a great business idea.

Since the idea first came to light there have been some variations on a theme, but with the help of my Mum, Dad, Sister Ruby, girlfriend Jess and her parents Maggie and Colin, Robert, Dave who is involved with the business, a close friend of mine Ed who helped all last summer, and a whole host of other generous friends who will undoubtedly get a mention when I write my memoirs (this sounds like a bloody acceptance speech - kidding about the memoirs by the way), we came up with a service we'd be proud to deliver and we feel you, as a customer would be thrilled with. Now with an enthusiastic team on board we really look forward to the service going live and starting some great relationships with people looking for an easier way to enjoy their winter adventures!

Thanks again for taking the time to visit us here at SkiStash and we very much look forward to meeting you soon and starting something together!
Take it easy.
